Objectives:
- To evaluate different solutions and technologies for network energy-efficiency.
- To integrate the most promising energy-aware elements in prototype platforms of next-generation devices.
- To evaluate single energy-aware devices with power-scaling and standby capabilities, and local control strategies.
- To integrate network-wide and local control strategies and monitoring frameworks upon prototype platforms of next-generation network equipment.
- To demonstrate and evaluate the effectiveness of the new energy aware devices in a representative and real network contest.
