On November 3, the ECONET project participated at the Australasian Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference (ATNAC 2010).

Prof. Davoli, on behalf of ECONET project, gave an invited talk entitled “Energy Efficiency in the Future Internet: Current Status and Trends”. The talk explored current perspectives in power consumption for next generation networks, and examines power saving optimization techniques at the levels of the individual networking devices and of the network itself. Approaches to re-engineering, dynamic adaptation, and sleeping/standby methodologies have been briefly surveyed, and the future trends in energy-aware networking have been highlighted.
