Objectives:
  • To re-design current equipment architectures and building blocks, by introducing and customizing hardware with energy-aware capabilities.
  • To conceive and develop new power-saving technologies, mechanisms and approaches aimed at modulating the equipment power consumption, while meeting given network performance requirement's levels.
  • To define novel network-specific standby mechanisms that allow maintaining network device presence even during idle periods.
  • To extend current link technologies and interfaces with green capabilities.
  • To provide intrinsic primitives for measuring and monitoring energy consumptions and heat dissipations.
