Objectives:
- Process and organize the different approaches to energy savings investigated in WP3, relevant results and required configuration parameters in order to outline potential analogies and bindings.
- Synthesize and model at an operational level and with an approach uniform as much as possible:
- network-specific technologies exploiting hardware power scaling capabilities, introduced in T3.1;
- network-specific technologies exploiting advanced "deep" and "fast" hardware standby capabilities introduced in T3.2;
- link interfaces with energy-aware capabilities introduced in T3.3;
- measurement tool for estimating energy consumption and heat dissipation, introduced in T3.4.
- Select a suitable set of parameters able to describe for each state of a given energy-aware element:
- the trade-off between performance and power consumption;
- its active and potential network capabilities;
- the transition times to move to other energy states;
- operating and measured parameters.
