Prof. Franco Davoli, on behalf of ECONET project, was invited to participate at the First International Workshop on Sustainable Internet and Internet for Sustainability (SustaInet 2011) co-located with WoWMoM 2011.
He gave an invited talk entitled “Green Networking Technologies for a Sustainable Future Internet”. The talk outlined the main reasons for “going green” in the Future Internet, presented a taxonomy of current approaches to green optimization and performance tradeoffs at the device and network level, and examined the potential gain margins in energy efficiency. Prof. Davoli also participated in a panel session on “Internet sustainability or Internet for sustainability: what really matters?” June 20. Lucca – Italy.
